The Symposium in honour of Prof. Mariusz Gajda and Prof. Mirosław Brewczyk, on the occasion of their 60th birthdays will be held on the 20th of October 2017, at the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IF PAN), Warsaw, Poland. Attendance is free of charge. We invite everyone interested in Mariusz and Mirek’s work to join us in celebrating their achievements and presence among us.

 

Mariusz and Mirek first met during their studies, and since then have carried on a fruitful collaboration on many topics.

They made important contributions to the understanding of thermal and nonlinear effects in BECs, multicomponent systems, quantum gases with long range interactions, fermion and few-body systems, optical lattices. They are both among the most prominent Polish physicists in the ultracold atom field.
