Just this year:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>in the ranking of the \u201cPerspektywy\u201d, we obtained 3rd place in Poland, in the category of physics majors, and<\/li>\n<li>for the first time, the University of Bia\u0142ystok, thanks to the achievements of the Faculty of Physics, was placed in the TOP-500 world\u2019s universities in the subject of physics in Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1 class=\"font-headlines\">Ranking of the \u201cPerspektywy\u201d: 3rd place in Poland!<\/h1>\n<p>As every year, the results of the \u201cPerspektywy\u201d ranking appeared \u2013 we were pleased to note that in the ranking of majors in physics we are on the podium \u2013 we are third in the country!&nbsp;<span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"pl\" data-phrase-index=\"0\">Only the University of Warsaw (UW) and the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow were ahead of us.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"img-hyperlink\" href=\"https:\/\/2021.ranking.perspektywy.pl\/ranking\/ranking-kierunkow-studiow\/kierunki-scisle\/fizyka\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12482\" src=\"http:\/\/physics.uwb.edu.pl\/wf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ranking2021.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 927px) 100vw, 927px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/physics.uwb.edu.pl\/wf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ranking2021.png 927w, https:\/\/physics.uwb.edu.pl\/wf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ranking2021-300x80.png 300w, https:\/\/physics.uwb.edu.pl\/wf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/ranking2021-150x40.png 150w\" alt=\"\" width=\"927\" height=\"246\"><\/a><br \/>\nThis year\u2019s result is not a complete surprise \u2013 a year ago we were in sixth place in the \u201cPerspektywy\u201d ranking of physics majors, and we know that we improve our position with good scientific achievements. Therefore, the high position in the \u201cPerspektywy\u201d does not surprise us \u2013 although the podium together with UW and UJ in the country is a very nice company.<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"font-headlines\">Shanghai ranking: TOP-500 in the world!<\/h1>\n<p>Thanks to the scientific achievements of the Faculty of Physics, the University of Bia\u0142ystok, as the only university in the Podlasie region, was included in the prestigious group of 25 Polish academic universities noted in the annual Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS). For the first time, UwB ranked in the TOP-500, i.e. in the top 500 of the highest-ranked universities from all over the world in the subject of physics. The Faculty of Physics is in the distinguished group of six university physics faculties in Poland&nbsp;<span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"pl\" data-phrase-index=\"0\">included in the ranking.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a class=\"img-hyperlink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.shanghairanking.com\/rankings\/arwu\/2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-12488\" src=\"http:\/\/physics.uwb.edu.pl\/wf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021-GRAS.png\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 935px) 100vw, 935px\" srcset=\"https:\/\/physics.uwb.edu.pl\/wf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021-GRAS.png 935w, https:\/\/physics.uwb.edu.pl\/wf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021-GRAS-300x291.png 300w, https:\/\/physics.uwb.edu.pl\/wf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021-GRAS-150x145.png 150w, https:\/\/physics.uwb.edu.pl\/wf\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/2021-GRAS-516x500.png 516w\" alt=\"\" width=\"935\" height=\"906\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The GRAS ranking has been published since 2017 by the Chinese agency ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. It takes into account 54 disciplines assigned to five fields: life sciences, medical sciences, social sciences, and technical and engineering sciences. A total of 1800 universities from 93 countries are included in the rankings for each discipline.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.shanghairanking.com\/rankings\/arwu\/2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here<\/a>&nbsp;to go to the ranking.<\/p>\n<h1 class=\"font-headlines\">\u201cA\u201d \u2013 research category<\/h1>\n<p>For the last 13 years, the Faculty of Physics has been granted the scientific category A by the Ministry of Education and Science (formerly Ministry of Science and Higher Education).
