Oznacza to, \u017ce wykazuj\u0105 one pewne cechy wysoko\u015bci i barwy d\u017awi\u0119ku, mimo i\u017c nie maj\u0105 charakteru okresowego, co zwykle zak\u0142ada si\u0119 w teorii muzyki. Przeprowadzono badania naukowe nad wra\u017ceniami wywo\u0142anymi s\u0142uchaniem kr\u00f3tkich sygna\u0142\u00f3w d\u017awi\u0119kowych w grupie os\u00f3b z wykszta\u0142ceniem muzycznym oraz bez takiego wykszta\u0142cenia. Badania behawioralne wykaza\u0142y rosn\u0105c\u0105 zale\u017cno\u015b\u0107 najmniejszej zauwa\u017calnej r\u00f3\u017cnicy czasu trwania sygna\u0142u od samego czasu trwania, w analogii do znanego prawa Webera-Fechnera. Wyniki bada\u0144 zosta\u0142y por\u00f3wnane z widmami otrzymanymi dla tych samych d\u017awi\u0119k\u00f3w zarejestrowanych w komorze bezechowej za pomoc\u0105 \u201esztucznej g\u0142owy\u201d: Head and Torso Simulator (HATS).
