  • Head (and founder) of the Department of Physics of Magnetism, University of Bialystok;
  • Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations of University of Bialystok (1998 – 1999).
  • Chairman of Bialystok Branch of the Polish Physical Society (1994 to 2004)
  • Director of the Institute of Experimental Physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Bialystok (2005-2007),
  • Member of the Committee of Physics

Scientific training:
A number of months of research stays (a total of almost three years) in the U.S. (University of Kansas, Lawrence), France (University Paris-Sud, Orsay) and Germany (University of Tübingen and the HMI in Berlin);
A series of short research stays devoted to use the unique research facilities LSF (large scale facilities) to the study of nanostructures: the source of polarized neutrons at Saclay (France) and synchrotrons: BESSY in Berlin, Elettra in Trieste and ERSF in Grenoble;

Research subjects:
The study of different materials properties both magnetic (static and dynamic) and magneto-optical, phase transitions, ions and light irradiation driven modifications of magnetic nanostructures. Objects of research - and a thin layer of nanostructures. Various problems of nanotechnology.
